The Situation

In Rwanda, access to education is often hindered by the lack of essential school supplies and uniforms, which serve as critical barriers to entry for many children. Without basic items like notebooks, pens, and backpacks, as well as the mandated uniforms, countless children are left unable to attend school.

This necessity creates a challenging situation where education, a fundamental right, is contingent on a child’s ability to procure these supplies. As a result, many young students are to remain at home, missing out on valuable learning opportunities and the chance to build a better future. Addressing this issue is essential to ensure that every child has the opportunity to pursue their education and break the cycle of poverty that often persists in the absence of schooling.
